Decision 2008

We have a decision! I am not talking about which candidate to elect in November, it is something much closer to my heart these days. Baby Bedding. The search for bedding has been an ongoing struggle in our house. I found 20 sets I liked for a girl but none for a boy. We came up with a set from Pottery Barn Kids that we liked but I knew they were close to releasing a new catalog so I decided to hold off until then to buy anything. So I called PBK like once a week to find out when the new release was coming. I was given a different answer each time I called until someone gave me a date of 7/22 which was last Tuesday. Tuesday came and went and no bedding. I was not pleased. If PBK tracks hits to their website, I am sure they are working on some kind of restraining order against me as I was refreshing every 5 minutes. Finally Friday morning the new catalog was online and luckily we really liked one of the new sets. Well, I liked it....Frank took some convincing but he is on board too.
So here is the winner!

Furniture comes tomorrow and I can't wait to see how it looks put together.

Name that tune....

My awesomely fantastic (hows that for that for bad English) husband took my not so subtle hints and got me an iPod Nano in green AND a matching green speaker base. Woo hoo! He also got me this which is a little frightening but he means well. I had an iPod Mini but it died a slow painful death, so this is a wonderful replacement. I already have a good amount of music I like on there and now I want to start putting on kids music so I can use it in the nursery as well.
I have a bunch of my favorites in my head....like ABC-DEF-GHI from Sesame Street. I am also excited about all the artists who are putting out kids albums like the Bare Naked Ladies. But I would love to hear what you favorite kids songs are....the more the merrier.

Goodbye Ankles....

Hello Cankles! In a rather disturbing turn of events, my ankles are taking on the looks of those of my high school principle. Trust me, its not pretty. I was anticipating this, but not this soon. I had mentally prepared myself for it somewhere around week 35 and yet here we are 10 weeks earlier. I am not pleased.

I knew before I ever got pregnant that I would not be one of those cute pregnant women, who you never knew was pregnant unless she turned around to unveil her big ole belly.... I missed that sign up sheet in the gene pool. However, I am beginning to struggle with the change of my body. Not the belly, that does not bother me, its the face, hips, and thighs that are getting to me. For the first time in 8 years my thighs now rub together. I worked damn hard to lose a lot of weight years ago and I am now starting to see remnants of my former self and I am not pleased. I know it is a temporary state and I am very thankful to be pregnant but still it messes with your mind a bit.

On my schedule today

Almighty Allah

Thats a big name for a kid to live up to!

Dear Co-Irker

Perhaps you have not realized that we work in an area where we have very few resources, or perhaps you do not care. I am confused, however, as to why you decided to perseverate over nutritional information posted in the exam rooms. In truth I had not even noticed them, as I explained to you and I am glad you are taking the time to examine everything so closely. I am sorry that the information posted BY OUR NUTRITIONIST was published by the beef council but hey, free is free. The information is good info for our patients and not in the slightest insinuating that we should only eat beef all the time, more so educating them about the importance of a balanced diet and good vitamin and calcium intake. Yes, there s a small logo on the bottom of the page for the beef council but is that really sending our patients the wrong message as you were so worried about. I realize you and your entire family do not eat meat of any kind and I am sorry you are offended personally by the beef council but was it really necessary to take down the handouts and store them until the nutritionist returns from vacation? Way to pick something ridiculous to get upset over.

Have I mentioned I hate my job

Scary

On Thursday, I went into Hallmark to buy a birthday card for my cousin and was greeted by Halloween decorations. Halloween decorations!!! I will likely have a baby by Halloween. Holy Crap! I mean October is so far away...isn't it?

I really think emotionally we are ready, however from an organizational standpoint we are not. When we ordered our furniture, we were told 12-14 weeks before it would be in. Imagine my surprise, then, to learn that not only was my Munire crib, hutch and dresser in last week, but so was my glider which was ordered from another store. So I know have a lovely glider sitting in my living room until we are finished clearing out the nursery which needs to be done before July 28 because that is when the other furniture is being delivered. And there is still that little matter of bedding.....sigh.
